Sometimes when you are at a theme park you have had your fill of pizza, burgers and hot dogs and just want a little more! One of my favorite places to go enjoy a nice meal at Universal Orlando is BigFire American Fare! My husband loves a good steak and whiskey so stopping at BigFire is a must do whenever we are at the parks.
In the heart of the restaurant otherwise known as the kitchen is a massive woodfire grill where patrons can eyeball their food as it is being cooked. One of my favorite parts of just being inside the restaurant is that smoked wood smell that radiates off your food as your server delivers your meal. The theming of this restaurant is said to be designed like a lakeside lodge would cast-iron and wood accents throughout the restaurant.
The menu is amazing and they are always making changes to the menu which is great as my family and I love to try new things. Some of our favorite items from the menu are the Oven Baked Bread which comes with a special butter and fresh orange peach preserves that is an amazing addition to any of the bread they bring to the table. My all-time favorite appetizer is the Artichoke Oven Roasted Dip. It comes out in this cast iron skillet and is absolutely delish! They provide grilled bread for you to dip/scoop your Artichoke dip in.
One of the reasons I love this restaurant is because they do not serve just steaks. They have a pretty robust menu especially if you do not eat red meat. They also have a great kids menu that has something for even the pickiest eater! I personally love the steak as well as the Hearth Grilled Chicken paired with the Loaded Smashed Potatoes. You ABSOLUTELY need to save room for dessert however the bigger issue is there are so many amazing options. My family loves the Tableside S'mores! You get 2 types of marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate bars, and peanut butter cups!
If this doesn’t have you jumping to make a reservation let me just quickly talk about the cocktails. I mentioned Whiskey earlier!! They have a whiskey drink that truly is an experience when you are at BigFire! If you love Whiskey then I would highly recommend the Smoked Old Fashioned! For people that do not drink Whiskey, the Raspberry Lemonade is great on a hot day!
